The house is absolutely great. I would say it was one of my best AirBnB experiences yet. We traveled with 2 small kids, so we have not very high but still very important expectations from the house. Everything was fine - clean, convenient, easy. On top of than there were a lot of Japanese cultural and style things inside the house, so we feel it really special. Tatami experience was great too. Hosts are very friendly and helpful, location is just perfect, interior and exterior is awesome. We hired a car to explore the region, i would recommend everybody to do so - there is so much to view around. Little hint for winter travellers - Onsens (hot spring bath) around are so great - there is no need to use house bath. Actually we simply used onsen every day. Thank you very much Yoko. Was great to stay in your house.

Yoko's place is a dream. The listing is quite accurate but expressing with words the wonderful experience you may have at this place is not possible. The house is beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and with everything you need to feel at home. The rooms, beds, balconies, bathrooms and kitchen are amazing. It is a great place to interact with the Japanese culture! Yoko and her parents are excellent hosts. They were super available, on top of every single detail of our visit and were the most welcoming, helpful and warm of all hosts we had during our visit to Japan. They made our stay an outstanding experience. We visited with two children (6 and 3) and they loved the place. Yoko's mom was super special with them and invited them to interact with the Japanese traditional items and decor which helped us to relax. Yoko's dad helped us get around, rent a car and experience some traditional arts in the area, a highlight of our visit to Japan. We are coming back to Yoko's place
Silvia, Vancouver, CanadaAmazing stay!!! The house was stunning, comfortable and had every convenience plus more. It was like staying in a 5 star hotel. We were planning on just relaxing but Yoko had supplied a guide book and it turned out there was so much to do! Her friendly parents were always on hand and were just a delight to meet. Highlight of our Japan trip.

A beautiful detached house with both traditional Japanese features and modern european Influence's, in the Japanese Alps overlooking a small town containing all that you need, excellent restaurants etc. Providing peace and tranquility.

This is the first time we use AirBnB and we were so lucky to have met Yoko and her house. Yoko is very kind. The house is even better! Her dad greet us and show us around the house. There were even a welcome snacks! (Thank you so much) The bedding is superb. The house is clean. Location isn't far from Takayama old town. Yoko left some guidebooks for us in case we wanna do some tourist activities. That was very thoughtful. There were even 2 bikes for us to borrow.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was lovely and very well equipped. The view is beautiful and we enjoyed just walking through Hida Hagawara. Do go down to the river and get the freshly caught fish either grilled or fried. Yoko's father is a wonderful host who always made sure we had everything we needed. While the house is uphill from the train station, we didn't find the walk too bad. It is easy to get to places like Takayama which we highly recommend.

Fantastic holiday house. We had a wonderful time in Yoko's house. Beautiful location and with lots of nearby activities for all of us (1 grandparent, three parents and three children).

As everyone has noted, it is a spectacular home and setting, and was a real treat being able to stay there! Yoko was always responsive and her parents very helpful in greeting us and showing us the place. We only wish we could have stayed longer

The accommodation was very comfortable and fully equipped. The area was quiet with a beautiful view. There's a supermarket and hot spring nearby and they're easily accessible if you travel by car. We had a wonderful stay there. Communication was great, Yoko's replies are fast since the very beginning. We received the warmest hospitality too from Mr & Mrs. Sato. Definitely will go back there if I have another chance in the future! 🙂

An amazing home with amazing views. Just wonderful from start to finish. Excellent communication throughout and superb hospitality from Mr & Mrs Sato, meeting us from the station, helping us get to Takayama for the festival, meeting us from the last train back, appearing in the rain to help us carry shopping back up the hill! The highlight of our stay. Loved the spotless house, the views, walks nearby, wifi, deep bath and the massage chair! Feel recharged. Many thanks. Wish we'd stayed longer.

The house is só nice! The kids loved it, the furniture is very japanese and beautiful. The view is very nice and the surrounding beautiful. The parents from Yoko are very helpful and charming, they speak very good English. The father came to get us at Gero station and went with us to the supermarket. Takayama is only one hour from the town, it is for us one of the most beautiful cities in Japan that we saw. The only problem is that there are no much trains going to Takayama from town. But if you know the schedule it is not a problem. We think it is really worth it to take a brake between big cities like Tokyo and Kyoto, we would have loved to stay longer, it was so relaxing! Thanks!

This is a terrific place to stay between your visits to Tokyo and Kyoto. Enjoy the mix between a modern and classical Japanese style. A great place to slow down.

Awesome area to spend time with family. It's very quiet and neat environment. We all have good sleep here with comfortable bed. The house provided the modern facilities and traditional Japanese decoration which were great mix and match. Our family enjoyed the stay very much. Mr Sato and Mrs Sato are very friendly and cheerful couple. Location is not easy to find from GPS and glad that Yoko's dad pick us from Hida Hagiwara station 飛驒萩原駅 which is only 3mins away. The house is 20mins away from 天領朝市 and supermarket. Town people are also very friendly. 20mins away from Gero 下呂 and 45mins from Takayama 高山.

The house is excellent. It is a villa actually. The house is so big and convienient for our 7people. Besides, everybody like the massage chair. We will take chance to visit again!

This is one of the best places I have ever been to. There were many surprises out of this trip - there's a line of sakura trees lined outside the house such that we felt like we were doing "hanami"; although in the countryside, this house has all the modern facilities like floor heating. Above all, Yoko's parents were extremely kind and helpful - other than recommending nice places to go to. A big thank you to Yoko and her family!

The host, Yoko's father, was extremely friendly. He spent much time to help us setup the GPS, which although speak in English, most of the text were in Japanese. He introduced a superb good onsen which frequent mainly by local Japanese. We went there twice and thoroughly enjoyed the many different types of water. The house is very big with 3 bedrooms that can accommodate at least 6 people. It has beautiful views of the mountains and the valley. It was tidied and comfortable. With proper heating / aircon. I love it that it was quiet and peaceful, can just sit and look at the mountains, don't have to go anywhere. The drive up to the house is a bit challenging as the roads are a bit narrow with steep slope. Try not drive at night as there was limited lighting around. Overall, we are very happy to find this beautiful house in Gifu.

Every now and you hit a jackpot with accommodation and this was one of those times. There was plenty of room for our family of 5. All rooms were generous, the kitchen was modern and well equiped. The house was laid out well with a tradional Japanese feel. The wallpaper was equisite. We only wished we had been able to stay longer. An excellent place which I could recommend 100 percent.

What a wonderful host. Yoko's parents met us at the train station to guide us in as we were in a hire car. They were incredibly kind and helpful even organising to pick us up and drop us to a restaurant in town for dinner. This is a beautiful home, in an elevated position with plenty of room for us and another couple travelling with us. It was nice to go for a walk around the local area and enjoy the scenery. Yoko was an excellent communicator, responding to all our questions and was always pleasant. Thanks once again for your hospitality.

Yoko's house is amazing. We enjoyed the staying in the house with very comfortable feeling. Sati-san, her farther speaks English well and introduced local culture to us. Appreciate! We like the wonderful, quite, beautiful place, especially in snowing season. I strongly recommend the place and the house to my friends. It is my best experience by Airbnb so far.

We spend 3 weeks in this beautiful house. It was an incredibly peaceful and beautiful place. The house is very big, very functional, and convenient. It is 5 to 10 minutes walking to the train station , restaurants and the grocery store, very convenient. The house is well furnished and very functional, with everything we need. It felt like our home to live in. Our owner Mr. And Ms. Sato are the best owners we can imagine, they picked us up from the train station every time we need, drove us around to the trailhead, Takayama, and anywhere we wanted to go. Because of them, we had opportunities to see the local festival, drums performance, tried Fugu, and the best local restaurants like Sushi and Soba noodles. We had so much fun together, it was an unforgettable and valueless experience. We deeply appreciate all the warmth and help we got on our trip. Staying in this house was the best choice we made in Japan.
